About

I grew up in SOHO / Tribeca in NYC and became interested in graphic & web design at an early age. The building that I was living in, was jam-packed with professional graphic artists.

In 1995, I started learning photo-retouching basics with the earliest versions of Adobe Photoshop. I received hands-on experience with the program by retouching digital photograps of various cosmetic lines while interning at a company on the L'Oreal account.

I soon began learning additional programs such as Adobe Illustrator , Cyberstudio (re-named Adobe GoLive) and Macromedia Dreamweaver. WYSIWYG editors such as Adobe GoLive and Macromedia Dreamweaver are great for HTML beginners, but in order to debug and create advanced content, coders should learn to hand code.

HTML hand coding was the next step in my learning process, which lead to Javascript. I started creating web sites for friends, family and myself to sharpen my skills. What began as a hobby, eventually turned into a profession as I began freelancing.

In 2001 Adobe released Adobe Livemotion; an interactive animation program that sparked a little renaissance in my web design work.

A year later, I was extremely fortunate in having McGaw Hill offer me a book deal in writing a 566 page how-to guide on Adobe's next version of the program entitled Livemotion 2: A Beginner's Guide.

A few years ago I started working with PHP & mySQL to create dynamic content. Over the past year, I've been creating my own CMS (Content Management System),which I adopt to each client commissioned project requiring an admin section. Within the admin section, clients can edit and add content to their site without knowing HTML.

Currently, I am inspired by CSS and it's vast ability to organize and control XHTML content in an intelligent manner, making the design process seamless. In addition I'm continuing to learn and develop Ajax content utilizing Spry framework.

Nearly 6 years after the release of Livemotion, Adobe's reacent release of Photoshop Lightroom, sparked a little renaissance in my photography work. Lightroom is an image editing program aimed at helping photograhers manage their image workflow, maintain color-tone accuracy, and do basic retouching to their images.

Photography

Having designed and developed websites for the past 12 years, I took a heavy interest in professional digital photography with Adobe's recent release of Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
